February 6th & 7th 2023

The “Digital Tools for Dementia Caregivers” project has begun!

The first meeting was held in Florence, Italy and online. The objectives
of the project are the design, implementation, testing and evaluation of the impact of a new curriculum and a new methodology focused on the use of digital tools, with the aim of training family caregivers involved in assistance and in the care of patients with dementia.

The project will be implemented in the Netherlands, Italy, Greece, Kosovo and Bulgaria. During the meeting were discussed the timeline, activities and implementation. Dissemination and quality were also parts of the discussions, and all partners are motivated to start working on the project!

We would like to thank our coordinator Stichting Amsterdam European Mobility – Adammob (the Netherlands), as well as all the partners, Stepp Strategie Servizi Sviluppo SRLS and Dementia care (Italy), Alzheimer Athens Association (Greece), ECSA Kosovo (Kosovo) and Foundation Compassion Alzheimer Bulgaria (Bulgaria).

June 1st 2023

A project meeting of the project “Digital Tools for Dementia
Caregivers” was held online. The project partners
discussed the activities and deadlines, as well as the implementation of
focus-groups with caregivers for the development of the training curriculum.

November 6th & 7th 2023

The second project meeting was in Athens. 

During the meeting were discussed the activities and their implementation, as well as the dissemination events that have to be implemented by the end of the project. The design of the training curriculum is in progress. In March 2024 will start the testing with 50 caregivers in each country (Italy, Kosovo, Greece and Bulgaria). Multiplier events will be organized in each country in September 2024 (on the occasion of the World Alzheimer Day).

June 30 – July 4th 2024

A short term joint staff training mobility was organized in Athens (30 June – 4 July 2024).
Participants were the professionals from the partners organisations involved in the implementation of the curriculum with family caregivers. The training methodology was presented in details with a lot of practical activities.

September – October 2024

Implementation, Testing, Validation and Final Publication

Implementation, Testing, Validation and Final Publication is the activity carried out by all project partners. The implementation workshops in Italy, Kosovo, Greece and Bulgaria involved more than 50 family caregivers per partner organization with a total amount of more 250 learners (family caregivers trained). The project team prepared a final publication with the training methodology (Curriculum).

November 28th 2024

Final meeting of the “Digital Tools for Dementia Caregivers” project

The final meeting of the “Digital Tools for Dementia Caregivers” project took place on November 28, 2024, in the Netherlands, bringing together all partner organizations to review the project’s achievements. Partners shared insights from the workshops and training sessions implemented in their countries, highlighting a significant improvement in caregivers’ skills. Caregivers reported enhanced communication, better management of dementia symptoms, and increased confidence in using digital tools. These outcomes demonstrated the curriculum’s success in empowering caregivers and improving dementia care practices.
